UPDATE: 14-Year-Old Shot in Paterson

Authorities in Paterson are actively investigating a shooting that left a 14-year-old wounded Saturday evening. 

Law enforcement officials are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident, which took place in the area of Ellison Street and Rosa Parks Boulevard.

According to information released by Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-in-Charge Patrick Murray, officers responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 7:52 p.m. on March 9.

Upon arrival, police discovered a teenage victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency responders quickly transported the victim to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment. 

Fortunately, the injuries were not life-threatening.  

Authorities were able to locate a potential crime scene in the vicinity, though details regarding what led to the shooting remain unclear. 

Law enforcement officials are continuing their investigation, working to piece together evidence and identify any potential suspects.  

The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office urges anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
