University Hospital is excited to announce the 2nd Annual EMS Community Outreach Cookout, a day filled with fun, learning, and community engagement.AdThe event will be held at Weequahic Park on Sunday, May 19th, 2024, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

This community-focused event offers a unique opportunity for residents to engage with local healthcare professionals, first responders, and community organizations.

- Health and Medication Questions: Do you have questions about your health or medications? Ask one of our on-site healthcare professionals.

- Life-Saving Skills: Learn essential skills like CPR and Narcan revival that could help save a life in an emergency.

- Stop-the-Bleed Training: Attend training sessions to learn how to control bleeding in critical situations.

University - Equipment Showcase: Check out our new medical equipment and get an up-close look at our state-of-the-art gear.

- EMS Trucks Tour: Hop in and explore our EMS trucks to see where the action happens.

- Vitals Assessment: Get your vitals assessed on-site by our skilled medical team.

- Activities for All Ages: Enjoy a variety of activities suitable for all ages, ensuring fun for the whole family.

- Meet Your Local Heroes: Meet and interact with the dedicated members of University Hospital EMS, Newark Fire Department, Newark Police Department, and the Newark Community Street Team.

Remembering 9/11: As we come together as a community, we also honor and remember the heroes and victims of 9/11 with a special tribute: "9-11-01 NEVER FORGET."
