Members of the Union Township Police Department put a different set of uniforms on to fulfill two local kids wishes on Thursday.
According to police, they were informed that two very special residents of the community dreamt of personally meeting superheroes, so members of the department took it upon themselves to meet these residents' dreams.
The group of officers - all dressed in superhero costumes - visited the two residents as well as the Deron school (1140 Commerce Avenue).
Sgt. Michael D. Boll said, " Our team were the ones who actually met superheroes and it couldn't have gone any better."
One of the child's parent said, "Today was a very special day for our family, my son received the visit of these superheroes, but they are real life heroes: police officers. Thank you all of the officers who participated, you are truly amazing people we thank you from the bottom of our hearts."
Thank you to the participating heroes that went beyond the call of duty.
*The Deron school focuses on assisting learning-disabled students from ages 5 through 14-years-old.
