A fatal shooting incident has occurred in Elizabeth prompting an investigation by the Union County Prosecutor's Office.
The shooting, which took place overnight, resulted in the death of one man and left another person critically injured.
According to reports, police were called to the intersection of Westminster and Prince Streets around 1:00 AM following reports of shots fired.
Upon arrival, officers discovered two individuals with gunshot wounds.
One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene, while the second was rushed to a local hospital with serious injuries.
Detectives were seen meticulously searching the area for evidence and believe that the incident may have started on North Broad Street near Mary Street.
The Union County Prosecutor's Office has confirmed that the investigation is active and ongoing, but no further details have been released at this time.
