The Union County Board of County Commissioners is thrilled to announce the upcoming Expungement Clinic, marking the second installment of Commissioner Chairman Sergio Granados's "Second Chance" initiative.
This event is part of his broader vision under the Chairman's theme for 2023, "Building a Stronger Union County."The primary objective of this initiative is to eliminate the barriers that minor convictions can impose on individuals, thereby opening up new doors to employment and housing opportunities for county residents.
Commissioner Chairman Sergio Granados expressed his commitment to this mission, emphasizing the clinic's significance in guiding those grappling with past convictions.
Granados stated, "Our mission is clear: to break down the barriers that minor convictions impose, unlocking new employment and housing opportunities for our county residents. This clinic will serve as a guiding light for those struggling with past convictions, providing the necessary support and resources for navigating the expungement process."
The first Expungement Clinic hosted by the County saw an impressive turnout, with over 300 county residents in attendance.
The upcoming clinic, scheduled for December 20, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., will continue the County's dedication to creating a more inclusive and supportive community for all.The event will take place at the Warinanco Sports Center in Warinanco Park, situated at 1 Park Drive in Roselle. Qualified attorneys will be on hand to assist individuals in understanding and pursuing the expungement process.
Please note that this clinic is exclusively for Union County residents, and attendees must provide proof of residency for admission.
