Hudson County officials announced that the County's Regional Collision Investigation Unit is investigating a hit and run incident in which a 35-year-old woman was fatally struck on the Route 3 Service Road in Secaucus on Monday evening.
According to the Secaucus Police Department, officers responded to the area in front of 850 Paterson Plank Road at approximately 7:30 p.m. on July 6, on reports of a pedestrian struck with life-threatening injuries.
The victim, a 35-year-old woman from Union City, was transported to Hudson Regional Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 11:16 p.m.
According to the initial investigation, the victim was walking in the direction of Union City when she was struck and the driver fled the scene.
Detectives are looking for the driver of the vehicle, which is described as a late model (2017-2019) Chevy Suburban or Tahoe.
