Residents in Union has been alerted by police of suspicious activities coming from parked worked vans and trucks parked in their neighborhoods.
In a message released on the department's Facebook police stated the following: "We have had an increase in burglaries into work vans or trucks over the last few months. We have also had several vans and pickup trucks stolen.
If possible try not to leave tools in your work truck. If you must do so, consider getting an alarm and a GPS tracker for your work vehicle.
If you can block your work truck in the driveway, that would be helpful. Many of the crimes have happened between 3-6 AM while the truck was parked near the owner's home."
Police are stepping up enforcement in several areas in the city.
