The Belmar Police Department received a 911 transfer call for a report of a motor vehicle accident with pedestrians struck by a vehicle at approximately 1:28 AM.
Police say the accused vehicle, a silver colored Cadillac Escalade, fled the scene heading north on E Street in the area of 15th Avenue.
According to authorities, police arrived on scene and found an adult female and an adult male victim with injuries sustained from being struck by the accused vehicle.
Both victims were transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center according to police.
The Belmar Police Department and the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Serious Collision Analysis Response Team responded and are assisting with this on-going investigation.
