Police found two gunshot victims on Fairmount Avenue in Newark this evening.
Officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation that alerted police of gunfire near 15th Avenue around 6:50 p.m.
Units arrived and found the first victim suffering gunshot wounds. They continued to search the area and located the second individual who was rushed to Univerity Hospital in a police car.
Police say the suspect fired nearly a dozen rounds in the victims’ direction before fleeing the scene.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
