A double shooting incident in Newark's Central has police on the search for a suspect responsible for the crime.
It happened just before 1 a.m. in the vicinity of 469 South 14th Street.
Police responded to a ShotSpotter device activation in the area. When they arrived at the scene, officers found a male victim critically wounded after being struck by multiple bullets at that location.
According to o police, a second victim was seriously wounded after being struck in the leg by gunfire.
Both victims were transported to University Hospital while police canvassed the scene for additional victims, evidence and possible suspects.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
