Authorities in Bloomfield Township are looking for suspects responsible for two robberies, with one of the incidents resulting in an aggravated assault last week, March 7.
According to Bloomfield Police, units responded to the area of Watsessing & Berkeley avenues and 26 Bloomfield Avenue on two separate robbery incidents.
Police said in both incidents, an African American male exited a white Hyundai Genesis, approached both victims and demanded the victims’ phones and purses.
Authorities say in the first incident, the victim fought off the suspect and sustained numerous cuts.
The suspect was not able to gain any proceeds from the robbery.
In the other robbery, police said the suspect demanded that the victim hand over all her belongings, to which she complied and handed over her purse.
These incidents are under investigation.
UPDATE: One juvenile was taken into custody. Police said the incidents were stronger-arm robberies with no weapons shown.
