Two Residents, Two Officers Suffer Smoke Inhalation in Linden Fire

A total of four people were taken to area hospitals for smoke inhalation after a morning fire in Linden, officials said.

At approximately 4:25 a.m., Linden Fire Department responded to a structure fire on the 600 block of Zeigler Avenue, according to Mathew J Pribish. 

Linden fire crews quickly contained the fire to room where the blaze originated. 

The fire was placed under control by 4:55 a.m.  

Two residents along with two police officers were transported to Trinitas Hospital and St. Barnabas Hospital for treatment, said Pribish.

The fire is under investigation as possible arson. 

The Linden Fire Department received mutual aid from Clark Fire Department, Clark EMS and Elizabeth Fire EMS.
