Two Newark Public Schools Central Office Employees, Elementary School Vice-Principal Tests Positive for Coronavirus

Two Newark Public Schools central office staff members and an elementary school vice-principal are among the list of NJ coronavirus patients who has tested positive for the illness.

According to a statement released by district, officials started the following:

”It has come to our attention that two individuals in the Central Office have tested positive for COVID-19.

The last days that the two individuals were in Central Office were March 13 and March 16.

Based on guidance received from the Newark Health Department, we recommend that you monitor yourself and your family for any of the symptoms associated with COVID-19 and seek medical attention as necessary”.

In the other case, a vice-principal at Abington Avenue School confirmed on her Facebook page that she was a coronavirus patient. She said the following:

”For those who do not know, I'm in the hospital, fighting Covid19.

If you were exposed to me, you should separate yourself from others and quarantine yourself for 14 days from the point of contact.

I'm so sorry, dear friends. I hope you know that I would never knowingly hurt you”.

It is not clear when the last time the Abington Avenue administrator was inside the building around students and staff.
