Two Men Charged with Jersey City Homicide

The Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced the arrest of David Jones, 46, of Jersey City, and Horace Parker, 31, of Jersey City in connection with a stabbing incident which occurred on Claremont Avenue on September 27th.

According to authorities, on September 27th, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Jersey City Police Officers responded to the area of Martin Luther King Drive and Orient Avenue in response to a report of an injured victim.

Upon arrival, the responding officers found Richard Farmer, 25, of Jersey City, lying on the ground in front of 73 Orient Avenue with apparent stab wounds to his torso.

Emergency Medical Services transported Farmer to Jersey City Medical Center where he was pronounced dead shortly after 10 a.m.

A Medical Examiner determined the cause of Farmer’s death to be a stab wound to his torso and the manner of death to be homicide.

Further investigation, led officers to discover a second male victim in the vicinity, who was also suffering from apparent stab wounds to his torso and upper extremities. The unidentified victim was also transported to JCMC by EMS where he received treatment for his injuries and was later released.

Police have charged Jones and Parker with Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Murder, Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (marijuana), Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance (marijuana) and Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (marijuana) with Intent to Distribute within 1000 feet of a School.

Yolanda Jones, 44, of Jersey City, was also charged with Hindering, Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (marijuana), Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance (marijuana) and Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (marijuana) with Intent to Distribute within 1000 feet of a School.

The investigation of this incident is ongoing.
