Two Men Charged with Fatal Newark Shooting Remain at-Large

Officials announced that two city men - who remain at-large - have been charged in connection with the death of a 43-year-old man shot to death on a Newark street on August 31st.

Police responded to the teen’s block of Belgium Street shortly before 7 a.m. where arriving officers found Curtis Thomas, who based on preliminary investigation had been assaulted and then shot.

Thomas ultimately succumbed to his injuries, according to police.

Arrest warrants were issued for Khalil Harris, 49, of Newark, who was charged with murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon.

His bail was set at $1 million with no 10% option.

Also charged in connection with the murder of Thomas was Keith Oliver, 51, also of Newark.

He was charged with aggravated assault while his bail was set at $100,000 with no 10% option.

Both remain at large, according to officials.
