Union County authorities are investigating a multi-vehicle crash that left two people dead in Union Township Friday night.
According to a preliminary investigation, at approximately 9:52 p.m., police responded to reports of a crash with injuries in the vicinity of 1721 Morris Avenue.
Upon arrival, emergency responders found a vehicle crashed into a flatbed truck that then struck other vehicles at that location.
Two individuals were trapped in the initial vehicle and suffered fatal injuries at the scene.
Police say the flatbed truck driver did not suffer severe injuries and the cause of the crash is under investigation.
The Union County Prosecutor’s Office has been notified of the crash.
