Two Jersey City Police Officers Among Three Arrested for Burglary, Threats to Attack With Bats

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez has announced the arrest of three men, including two Jersey City Police officers, following an investigation into terroristic threats and burglary.Puerto ricoOn Thursday, July 18, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Internal Affairs Unit apprehended Mario Albero, 45, Adrian Tejada, 28, and Robert Nunez, 41.

The arrests stem from an incident on January 28, 2024, where the defendants allegedly entered a private structure on Zabriskie Street in Jersey City and issued threats to harm multiple individuals.

Albero faces charges of Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose (baseball bat), Burglary, and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.

Prosecutor Suarez said Tejada and Nunez are charged with three counts of Terroristic Threats and Burglary.

Tejada and Nunez, both officers with the Jersey City Police Department, were off-duty at the time of the alleged crimes.AdThe three men were arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Jersey City and subsequently released pending their first court appearance. 

Prosecutor Suarez commended the efforts of the HCPO Internal Affairs Unit and the Jersey City Police Department Internal Affairs Unit for their roles in the investigation and arrests.
