The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office has taken over the investigation into a shooting in Paterson that left two people injured overnight.Gunfire erupted just before 8:10 p.m. in the area of 420 Main Street. Responding Paterson Police officers learned that a 23, and 21-year-old men were both taken away by private vehicle.
While police and detectives canvassed the area for evidence, officials at St. Joseph's notified them of both victims who had independently arrived at the hospital with bullet wounds.
Both victims are reported to have non-life-threatening injuries.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains active and ongoing.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the shooting to contact the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office or the Paterson Police Department.
