A shooting incident in Paterson has left two people injured, prompting an investigation by county officials.The incident occurred around midnight near the intersection of 21st Avenue and Market Street.
A preliminary investigation indicated that Paterson police were called to the scene following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers discovered one individual with a gunshot wound to the leg.
While police and detectives were collecting evidence at the scene, they were informed by officials from St. Joseph's Hospital that another victim had been admitted to the emergency room with a similar injury.
This second victim, who was brought to the hospital by a private vehicle, is believed to have been shot at the same Market Street location.
Both individuals are expected to recover from their injuries. The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office has been notified of the double shooting and has taken over the investigation.
Currently, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
