Authorities in Atlantic County announced that on Wednesday, an Atlantic County grand jury indicted Dyshawn Bostick (M), 28, from Tinton Falls, NJ, and Franchesa Burgos-Gonzalez (F), 37, from Phoenix, AZ, on counts of murder, conspiracy, and firearms offenses related to the death of Issac Bishop, 33, from Irvington, NJ.
According to Atlantic County officials, Bishop went missing on June 9 in Irvington.
Approximately two weeks later, on June 30, 2024, Bishop’s body was discovered by a hunter in the woods of Weymouth Township, County officials said.
Bishop had suffered a number of gunshot wounds, officials stated. There were also shell casings recovered from the area.
Atlantic County authorities said that Bishop’s last known contacts included Burgos-Gonzalez weeks prior to his body being found.
Cellphone data showed that Bishop, Bostick, and Burgos-Gonzalez simultaneously headed toward Weymouth Twp. from North Jersey, County officials stated.
Atlantic County officials said the data also showed that Bostick and Burgos-Gonzalez were at the scene of the murder on the same day that Bishop was last known to be alive.
Following an intensive investigation by the New Jersey State Police Major Crimes Unit, Bostick and Burgos-Gonzalez, officials say, were charged with Bishop’s murder.
Bostick is currently detained pending trial, and Burgos-Gonzalez awaits her detention hearing after being extradited from Arizona, Atlantic County authorities stated.
