Newark Police are investigating a shooting incident in the Clinton Hill area that resulted in two individuals being hospitalized on Thursday night.
The incident took place in the South Ward, near 840 South 15th Street, around 10:45 p.m.
Authorities were alerted to shots fired in the area and upon arrival, they discovered a male and a female suffering from gunshot wounds.
Both victims were promptly transported to University Hospital by EMS, where they are reported to be in serious but stable condition.
Following the shooting, police secured the area, conducting a thorough search for any additional victims and potential evidence to piece together the events leading up to the attack.
The investigation into the motive behind this violent incident is ongoing, with no arrests made thus far.
As the Newark Police Department continues its investigation, they urge anyone with information to come forward to assist in bringing those responsible to justice.
