Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Ringwood Police Chief Joseph Walker announce that they are investigating a fatal crash that resulted in two deaths Wednesday afternoon.
According to authorities, today at approximately 3:15 p.m., police were called to Greenwood Lake Turnpike north of Skyline Drive in the Borough of Ringwood for a report of a head on crash.
A preliminary investigation revealed a Toyota Celica, occupied by two males struck a guardrail, lost control of the vehicle and crossed into the opposite lane, striking a Chevy van head on.
Officials say the two occupants of the Toyota Celica were pronounced dead at the scene. There male driver of the Chevy van was transported to Saint Joseph’s University Hospital with minor injuries.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes available.
