Middlesex County authorities announced today that two individuals have been charged in connection with the nonfatal shooting that occurred on the evening of October 28th, 2022.
According to Highland Park Police, on Friday, October 28, 2022, at approximately 7:45 P.M., officers responded to the area of South Eleventh Avenue following the report of a shooting.
Police say upon their arrival, officers located one male victim who had been shot.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was treated for his injuries.
An investigation led by Detective Sergeant Jason Culver of the Highland Park Police Department and Detective Christopher VanEerde of the Middlesex County Prosecutors Office determined that Gary Manley, 26, of Edison, and Shanta Nolberto, 23, of Piscataway were the perpetrators.
According to officials, on December 1, 2022, Nolberto was arrested in Highland Park without incident and charged with first-degree Conspiracy to Commit Murder.
Officials say Manley was incarcerated when he was arrested on May 18th and charged with first-degree Attempted Murder, first-degree Conspiracy to Commit Murder, and second-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.
