Two Charged With Distributing Marijuana in Wanaque

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Wanaque Police Chief Robert Kronyak announce that Edward Forchion, 56, from Trenton and Dawn Perry, 29, from Freehold were arrested by Wanaque Police.  Police say Edward Forchion is charged with Possession of CDS Marijuana under 50 grams, a Disorderly Persons Offense; Possession of CDS Hashish under 5 grams, a Disorderly Persons Offense; Possession with the Intent to Use Drug Paraphernalia, a Disorderly Persons Offense; Possession with the Intent to Distribute CDS Marijuana under 5 grams, a Fourth Degree Offense; Conspiracy to Distribute CDS Marijuana, a Fourth Degree Offense; and three motor vehicle summons issued for improper or unclear plates, operation of a motor vehicle while in possession of CDS, and color of lights emitted.

According to police, Dawn Perry is charged with Possession of CDS Marijuana under 50 grams, a Disorderly Persons Offense; Possession of CDS Hashish under 5 grams, a Disorderly Persons Offense; Possession with the Intent to Distribute CDS Marijuana under 5 grams, a Fourth Degree Offense; Conspiracy to Distribute CDS Marijuana, a Fourth Degree Offense; Obstructing Administration of Law or other Governmental Function, a Disorderly Persons Offense; and Hindering Apprehension or Prosecution by Giving False Information to a Law Enforcement Officer, a Disorderly Persons Offense.

Police say on February 6, at 12:25 am, members of the Wanaque Police Department conducted a motor vehicle stop in the 500 block in Wanaque for a motor vehicle infraction.  

The driver of the vehicle later identified as Edward Forchion was subsequently arrested for various CDS offenses and issued multiple motor vehicle summonses.  

The passenger in the vehicle, later identified as Dawn Perry was arrested for various CDS offenses as well as obstructing administration of law or other governmental function and hindering apprehension or prosecution by giving false information to a law enforcement officer.

The sentencing exposure on each Disorderly Persons Offense is up to 6 months in the Passaic County Jail.

The sentencing exposure of each Fourth Degree Offense is up to 18 months in New Jersey State Prison. The defendants are scheduled for a CJP appearance on February 22, 2021 and a Pre-Indictment Conference on March 16, 2021.
