According to the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office, on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at approximately 7:30 a.m., officers from the Franklin Township Police Department responded to the 1000 block of Fries Mill Road for a 9-1-1 call reporting a male had been stabbed.
County officials said that Upon arrival, the responding officers discovered the victim, Dwaynne Mickles, 42, of Franklinville, deceased and appearing to have sustained stab wounds.
An autopsy conducted by Gloucester County Medical Examiner Dr. Gerald Feigin ruled the cause of Mickles’ death as multiple stab wounds and the manner of death as homicide.
Through investigation, Detectives from the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office and the Franklin Township Police Department arrested Jahaan Sheridan, 33, of Franklinville, charging him with murder, possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
He was lodged in the Salem County Correctional Facility pending a detention hearing.
According to officials, additionally charged in connection with the investigation was Brandon Harvey, 39, also of Franklinville. Harvey was charged with illegal possession of a weapon (handgun) and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
