Two suspects were taken into custody after a brief pursuit that resulted in a bailout in Newark on Saturday night.
According to preliminary reports, police recover received information of suspects wanted for felonies occupying a vehicle in the city’s South Ward.
Offers caught up with the vehicle and attempted to get the driver to stop, but the suspect sped away and led officers on a pursuit in the vicinity of Bergen and West Bigelow streets.
Police say four suspects bailed from the car near Springfield Avenue and 16th Street, resulting in a foot pursuit.
According to police, two of those suspects managed to escape and an assault weapon was located after officers searched the car.
There were no injuries reported.
