Two-Alarm House Fire Causes Minor Injuries in Newark

Two people suffered minor injuries in a two-alarm fire that broke out late last night in the city's South Ward. 

Firefighters responded to several calls of a fire that broke out inside a two and a half story house in the 50's block of Treacy Avenue shortly before 10 p.m.

Crews arrived to find flames coming from the basement of the house where they immediately focused their attack. Firefighters   brought the blaze under control in less than an hour. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation and has been deemed suspicious.
