A raging two-alarm house fire that began in residential neighborhood in Newark has firefighters on the scene.
Heavy fire tore through the rear of a two and a half story house located at 132 South 8th Street ---which was under construction- then quickly spread to 130 South 8th Street shortly before 2:30 p.m.
Both homes were destroyed and deemed inhabitable.
Two residents were displaced but there were no injuries according to the owner of 130.
Crews brought the fire under control in less than an hour.
Fire officials are investigating.
