There were no serious injuries reported in a fire that caused massive damage to a duplexed residence in Hillside this evening.
Newark, Union, and Irvington firefighters joined Hillside's bravest in battling a two-alarm fire that ripped through 205-207 Williamson Avenue shortly before 2:30 p.m.
Crews arrived at the scene where they found fire shooting from the residence according to fire officials.
Firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control in less than 30 minutes with a search of the structure for trapped or injured occupants coming back negative.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
