Tonight, -Monday- at 9 p.m., TV ONE in their series 'Shot in the Dark,' the network said a search for a killer of a cheerleader who was found murdered in her bed, ended in a rooftop chase and capture of a suspect who went on a rampage after being denied a prom date by the victim.
In the actual incident, according to The Essex County Prosecutor's Office, on June 5, 2013, Aquilla Flood was found dead from a single gunshot wound to the head inside her East Orange home.
Officials say Flood was voted prom queen by her classmates and was scheduled to receive her crown just days before she was killed.
About a month before the murder, Flood broke up with Al-Muqqadin Means. In the weeks leading up to the prom, officials say he began to threaten her after she refused to go to the prom with him.
