The truck driver accused of causing a crash that killed one person and severely injured three others, including actor and comedian Tracy Morgan, was indicted today by a New Jersey grand jury.
Despite Roper's attorney’s efforts in getting his criminal charges thrown out, claiming Roper would not receive a trial because of negative publicity surrounding Morgan's federal lawsuit against Wal-Mart. Today, Kevin Roper was charged with first-degree aggravated manslaughter, second-degree vehicular homicide and third-degree aggravated assault charges.
On the early morning hours of June 7, Roper - Walmart driver - struck a limo bus carrying Morgan and several friends.
The deadly crash killed James known as Jimmy Mack McNair. While critically injuring several others including comedian Tracy Morgan.
The investigation later revealed that Roper hadn't slept for allegedly 28 hours before the crash.
