A pursuit Sunday morning on I-287 sent two New Jersey State Police Troopers to the hospital after one rear-ended the other.
According to State Police spokesman Lt. Brian Polite, a trooper in a marked patrol car and a trooper in an unmarked car, were heading north near mile marker 22.5 in Bridgwater when the crash occurred.
The troopers were transported to Morristown Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
The incident began when shortly after 7 Sunday morning, a trooper attempted to stop Alejandra Ruales-Andrade, 22, of Dunellen, reportedly swearing a Mazda as she headed north on Interstate 287 in Bedminster.
However, the trooper proceeded to activate his lights and sirens after Ruales-Andrade allegedly refused to stop. As the second trooper assisted in the pursuit, the crash occurred.
Ruales-Andrade who was eventually taken into custody, was charged with third-degree eluding police.
She was released on her own recognizance pending a court appearance.
