NJ Transit officials are investigating a train strike that injured a male trespasser Monday evening in Montclair.
According to information released by NJ Transit officials, at approximately 7 p.m., a NJ Transit Train that left Boonton at 6:31 p.m.
struck a trespasser on the Montclair-Boonton line near Cloverhill Place.
Officials say the train had about 400 customers onboard and was expected to arrive in Lake Hopatcong around 8:14 p.m.
The unidentified person was extricated then rushed to the hospital suffering unspecified injuries.
Officials said the incident delayed train service in both directions for about 60 minutes and no one on the train suffered injuries.
NJ Transit Police is leading the investigation.
