NJ Transit officials have launched an investigation into a pedestrian strike that killed a man early Saturday morning in Perth Amboy.
According to a brief statement released by NJ Transit official, the incident happened at approximately 7:30 a.m. when one of their NJ Coastline trains was heading eastbound towards New York Penn Station.
Officials say an adult male entered the tracks and was struck by the train then pronounced dead at the scene.
There were three crew members on the train but NJ Transit officials say there were no passengers.
The incident caused 60-minute delays on the NJ Transit Coastline service officials said.
