UPDATE: Service has resumed with 15 minute delays
NJ Transit Officials have all Raritan Valley Line trains stopped in Plainfield as authorities investigate a train strike that has trespasser dead at this time in Dunellen.
According to police, at approximately 3:45 pm Sunday, Raritan Valley Line train 5524, which departed Raritan at 3:16 pm and was scheduled to arrive at Cranford at 3:54 pm, struck and fatally injured a female trespasser near Dunellen Station.
Officials say there were 50 passengers and crew on board and there were no injuries to any of them.
Raritan Valley Line service is currently suspended in both directions between Bound Brook and Plainfield. New Jersey Transit Police are investigating.
The incident remains under investigation.
Expect significant delays and crowding if you are heading in and out of Dunellen.
