Authorities in Mercer County are looking into the motive behind a shooting that injured a person in Trenton.
According to police, at approximately 8:30 p.m., officers responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the vicinity of 620 West State Street.
Police say when they arrived at the scene, they found a male victim struck by bullets at that location.
The victim was rushed to an area hospital for treatment of a leg wound and remained in stable condition, according to police.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
