A Trenton couple have been charged with child endangerment after police found their five children inside a Trenton home exposed to feces and deplorable conditions.
Haydee Santana, 23, and Johnathan Rivas, are facing five counts of child endangerment, according to police.
The investigation began back in October after Santana's 5-year-old daughter told school officials about the abuse at home however family was not located until now that Santana gave birth to a set of twins.
The Beatty Street house - where the children were found - had no electricity or gas service. The children were malnourished and in need of medical care, authorities added.
Santana is being held in lieu of $150,000 bail.
The children are now in the custody of the state Division of Children and Family Services.
Jonathan Rivas, father of the children, remains at large.
