Police have released the identity of the Trenton man killed Friday on the Garden State Parkway.
Police responded to the northbound lanes of the Garden State Parkway near mile marker 33 around 4:15 p.m. for a report of a crash.
According to initial investigations, Bobby Cardona, 46, of Trenton, for unknown reasons drove his van off the side of the road and struck a tree.
Cardona who was seriously injured was transported to Shore Memorial Hospital in Somers Point, where he was pronounced at approximately 5 p.m.
A portion of the Garden State Parkway was closed for approximately a half an hour during the investigation.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation but according to police at the time of the crash, the roadway was wet due to rainfall.
