Trenton Man Charged with Fatal Weekend Shooting

Authorities announced the arrest of a 37-year-old Trenton man accused of shooting a man to death Friday night.

Police responded to the first block of Cummings Avenue, near Chestnut Avenue around 11 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers found Jonathan Jimenez, 32, of Trenton, unconscious and suffering a gunshot wound to the chest.

He was transported to Trenton hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Tuesday, Alberto A. Perez - who was already in custody at the Mercer County jail on unrelated warrants - was charged with murder and related charges for the killing. He was being held on $750,000 bail.
