The New Jersey State Police have charged Miguel Vargas, 29, of Trenton, with multiple charges including, armed robbery and possession of a weapon.
According to police, on October 6th officers were called to respond to the RJ Hughes Justice Complex parking lot - located on Market Street in Trenton - after a vehicle owner reported finding a man sitting in his vehicle.
As the owner of the car confronted the suspect - later identified as Vargas - the suspect brandished a knife and threatened him with it. Vargas then fled the scene on foot.
Troopers in the area received a description of Vargas, located him at River View Plaza in Trenton and placed him under arrest.
While escorting Vargas to the Troop car, he attempted to flee on foot. After a brief foot chase, Vargas was apprehended and secured in the rear of the Troop car.
Police charged Vargas with armed robbery, burglary, theft, resisting arrest, possession of a weapon and was charged subsequently lodged at Mercer County Jail.
Charges are mere accusations and the suspect is considered innocent until proven guilty.
