A Trenton man has been arrested and charged for a December 2021 shooting homicide that occurred on Chambers Street in Trenton, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri reported.
According to Prosecutor Onofri, Yancy Young, 33, is charged with murder and multiple weapon offenses.
He was served his complaints last week at the Mercer County Correction Center, where he is being held on an unrelated incident.
The prosecutor’s office has filed a motion to detain Young pending trial.
The charges are the result of an investigation by the Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police Department.
According to Prosecutor Onofri, at approximately 1 a.m., Trenton police received a report of a person shot in front of 931 Chambers Street.
Prosecutor Onofri said that upon arrival, officers located the victim, later identified as 25-year-old Michael Degrasse Jr., located on the side of Championship Bar suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Degrasse was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center and pronounced dead a short time later.
