Trenton Man Accused of Fatal 2014 Shooting is Now Facing Charges for a Second Killing

Trenton New Jersey

A 29-year-old Trenton man in jail since last year for a fatal shooting in 2012 has been charged with a second shooting, authorities said today.

Mercer County Prosecutor's Office said, Markquice Thomas was charged last week with the Sept. 27, 2012 murder of a man, later identified as Jared Littlejohn, who was abducted and killed after being shot in the head.

Thomas is now accused of shooting and killing anti-violence advocate Joseph Gaines, who was shot outside a North Ward nightclub in March of 2014.

Thomas' bail was set at $1 million for the new murder charge.

Thomas is currently in the custody of the Mercer County jail.
