The torrential rainstorm that passed through the region last night is being blamed for a tree that toppled over on a house in Newark's North Ward
According to officials, the giant tree fell on the house located in the 200 block of Grafton Avenue during the overnight storm sending firefighters to the scene to check for possible casualties.
The house was damaged was officials say no one inside the home suffered any injuries.
Officials from the National Weather Service sent an alert that warned residents in the Northern NJ region to prepare for possible tornadoes, but it is not clear if a tornado touched down on Newark's Grafton Avenue.
The incident remains under investigation.
