An investigation is underway into an accident that left a man dead after a freight train struck the victim early this morning in Roselle Park.
First responders rushed to the freight train tracks in the area of Locust Street and Faitoute Avenue after receiving reports of a man that was walking on the tracks shortly before 1 a.m. had been struck by a freight train that was traveling westbound.
The victim died at the scene. An autopsy is scheduled for later today.
