Tragic Drowning of Four-Year-Old in North Brunswick Residential Pool

Middlesex County officials are investigating the tragic drowning of a four-year-old boy in a residential pool. AdAccording to a written statement by Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone, the North Brunswick Police Department received a 911 call at approximately 7:46 p.m.on May 25, reporting that a child was found unresponsive in a pool.

First responders arrived at the scene, performed CPR, and transported the child to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

The investigation is being led by Detective John Hanrahan of the North Brunswick Police Department and Detective Michelle Coppola of the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office. Detective Hanrahan can be reached at 732-247-0922 and Detective Coppola at 732-745-3477.

Prosecutor Ciccone and Police Chief Battaglia expressed their profound sorrow over the incident.Ad"Our hearts are heavy with this tragic loss. We extend our deepest condolences to the family during this incredibly difficult time," they said in a joint statement.

They also emphasized the importance of water safety and urged residents to ensure the safety of children near pools and other water bodies.
