HILLSIDE NJ: A late night stop of a vehicle on Rt. 22 in Hillside had officers place a man in custody after cops confiscating a large amount of narcotics in the vehicle.
Police on routine patrol of the Route 22 corridor attempted to pull over a vehicle for traffic violations when the driver of the vehicle sped off.
Hillside units followed the vehicle on the eastbound side of the highway for a short distance when they caught up with the driver near the Wendy's .
A search of the vehicle had officers located drugs and other illegal items.
Police placed the man in custody.
