An overnight traffic stop of a vehicle in Clark had two Westfield Police officers injured according to reports.
The incident happened sometime at around 1 a.m. when Westfield police followed a vehicle on Central Avenue into Clark in an attempt to issue traffic violation summonses.
According to reports, the vehicle stopped and when officers approached the vehicle to investigate, the driver reportedly sped off striking and dragging the officers who were in close proximity to the vehicle.
EMS transported the officers to Rahway Hospital where their injuries were not immediately reported as life threatening.
It is not clear if the driver of the vehicle was apprehended.
