Police have closed all lanes of Route 3 in Clifton after a crash had police on the scene investigating.
A crash investigation team was brought onto the highway after emergency crews responded to the scene at around 3:30 a.m. for a car that lost control on the eastbound side of the highway near Bloomfield Avenue, causing it to flip over and strike a light pole
The pole and wires came down onto the roadway according to authorities.
Eyewitnesses said, the vehicle came to rest on the grass with a occupant reportedly trapped.
Utility crews from PSEG were called to the scene to shut power off to begin repairs.
The extent of the victim's injuries have not been released.
UPDATE 6:20 a.m. Police have all but one lane open. The Garden State Parkway entrance has been reopened.
