Police in Scotch Plains have a section of Route 22 closed due to heavy rain causing flooding during the overnight hours.
Commuters should plan an alternate route if traveling in the westbound lanes near Victor Street.
According to reports, police arrived at the scene before 6 a.m. and detour traffic to the local streets.
The section of the roadway is near The Grill Stone Restaurant, police said.
There are no injuries or vehicles stranded in the water at this time.
Please avoid the area.
