Authorities are investigating an early morning incident that involved a tractor-trailer that killed a man and injuring a second man.
According to Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the men were standing when they were hit by a chassis sometime after 10 a.m.
One of the men - 53-year-old Brooklyn man - was pronounced dead at the scene while the second - 58-year-old male - was taken to Jersey City Medical Center with a rib fracture and a pelvis injury was reportedly “conscious and alert” at the scene.
There are no other immediate details available, according to authorities.
According to sources, the incident occurred inside the terminal in the area where the trucks await container pickups.
The investigation is ongoing.
